The China government will prohibit the sale and export of 60W or above incandescent light bulbs beginning October 1, according to s China-based Beijing Morning Post report.

A few 60W incandescent light bulbs are available for sale at retail stores, but they are almost for engineering use rather than for residential and commercial use, the paper said.

The China government has banned the sale and export of 100W or above incandescent light bulbs since October 2012 and plans to do so for 15W or above models beginning October 2016, the paper indicated.
